have a new kitten byLeap Editor7 months ago (0 votes) (report abuse) (reply)
We got our older son a kitten a few weeks ago and have been figuring out how to temper our 20-month-old daughter's excitement about the kitten with the need to keep her and the kitten safe. We've figured out that, for now, they can't be alone in the same room, even though our daughter is generally very gentle. Better safe than sorry!
pick your breed carefully byMeganR7 months ago (0 votes) (report abuse) (reply)
Especially with dogs, I think it's good to consider trying to match the breed to the age of your children by researching before you bring a new pet home. For instance, our Jack Russell Terrier is great with my older boys (teenagers), but is too high strung to be a good match for my younger nephews (ages 5-9).
